The repair job is on with that truck. Finally. It's been months. Got a call today that said that it's going to be at least $480 dollars for the labor. Parts is going to be more. I should know something tomorrow or Wednesday.
Last night, I got to go to ESPN Zone for the first time. This is about the coolest place in the world. Okay, maybe not, but I enjoyed it there. They've got games there that I've never seen anywhere else. If I was alone, I would have spent ALL my money on that basketball court they've got. You have to make shots from circles placed on the court for different amounts of points. I did, however, get a good idea of how out of shape I am. In a minute, I could only make 11 points. I know I can do better than that. Anyway...they've also got TVs all over the place, showing ALL of the games of the day. And since it was Sunday, you know what they were showing...football, and I was all up in it. The girl I was with was probably getting upset that I was watching so much TV and not talking to her, but dammit, I was looking at The Eagles take down the Jets. Oh, yeah...all the waitresses were fine as hell. Unfortunately, we didn't get one of them. We got some dude who kept forgetting to check on his customers. I wound up asking this other waitress for everything, because he was nowhere to be found. This waitress was as tall as I am. Here's hoping I see her again sometime.
This week, the NBA season starts and just like last year, I'm not going to be able to watch it like I want to. Last year, I started at Toys R Us in October and when you have to be to work at 5 in the morning, you tend to go to bed rather early. Like 9 or so. That's when the games start getting good. After I lost that job, I started the job I work now. Then, the shift was 7:30 to 6 am. Now, it's 5 to 3:30 am. Either way, I have to leave before the games come on and get off when they're over. What really sucks is that I'm pretty excited about the season this year. There were a lot of good offseason moves and I'm looking to see how they turn out. Everyone knows about The Lakers Reloaded, but there's also The Mavericks making a pretty stupid trade, in my opinion, trading Nick Van Exel (without him, the Chris Webber-less Kings would have still beaten them) for Antawn Jamison (a former UNC player, who I have nothing but good things to say about). The Timberwolves added Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell, but why is everyone making a big deal out of Michael Olawakandi being there? This guy was never good. I don't think things are going to change now. And of course, The LeBron Bandwagon gets going, but real basketball fans are looking to see Carmelo Anthony up in Denver. Rookie of the Year. I've been saying it since before he got drafted. LeBron's got too much hype for him to live up to. Anything less than total dominance of the league is going to be a disappointment. And his less than consistent jumper is starting him down that road. But this kid's passing skills are incredible. In four years, we'll all be riding his jock. And then...there's my beloved Bulls, who at long last will be making their return to the playoffs, in...let's see...6 years, which is pretty much what I said it would take them back in 1998. Okay, what I actually said in 98 was that it would take them five years, but after watching that season, I added a year, so I'm still right. All that needs to happen now is for Vince Carter to finally get traded to New York, so I can be viewed as a guru. I predicted everything that happened to the Bulls from 1993 to 1998, I predicted what team Scottie Pippen was going to when he left Chicago, hell, I even literally saw the future in the 94 Playoffs when Robert Pack stripped Gary Payton.
One day, they'll learn not to doubt my wisdom and brilliance. I'll show them all.
Anyway, that's what's been on my mind lately. The upcoming NBA season. Well, that and Smallville. And of course, wrestling...but that's only because it's been...well, terrible lately. Its time to make some people step aside and let those who know the wrestling business to take over and write those shows, because they're getting worse by the week. They're out of control up there. And speaking of wrestling, I need to go set my timer, so I can tape it and then get on to work. On that note, I'm out.

Sigh...I deleted what I had written three times. That's frustrating. Anyway, to pick up where I left off three times:
I was reading something over at this website I check out from time to time, hosted by Flea, a guy who I tend to see eye to eye with on a lot of things. Today, he was talking about a variety of topics and I think I'm going to start with Kobe Bryant.
Did Kobe do it? Well, I don't know and my opinion probably doesn't matter anyway. I don't think he was incapable of doing it, but I don't think it was very likely that he did. Mainly because, well...he's Kobe Bryant. I know a ton of women (and some men, too) who would give up the butt to Kobe without him having to ask. Am I expected to believe that some white bread, mountain chick had the ill na na that Kobe just had to have and she didn't want to give it up to him? Somehow I doubt it...especially in light of her sexual history that came to light in the form of her unwashed panties that she put back on when she went down to the hospital.
The point is, Kobe's famous and famous people don't have to rape women. They'll give it up willingly, because they think that they can get something out of it. Do you know how easy it is to get a woman to have sex with you when you're broke? He's famous, so he doesn't even have to try! All he has to do is say, "baby, I'll take you shopping tomorrow," and the booty is his. Besides, she came to his room at 1 or 2 in the morning. What did she think she was there for? Lemme tell you, it wasn't for milk and cookies. He knew why she was there, she knew why she was there. He didn't invite her back because he enjoyed her company.
Anyway, women have a history of telling lies like this. Sure, a lot of rapes are true and it's no joking matter, but a lot of women are trifling, scandalous hookers who have no morals to speak of. I know this. I know some personally. In an effort to get some money, a woman will lie, cheat, steal, whatever. Women will purposely use her "feminine wiles" to get whatever she wants from a man. He might care about her, he might love her, but it doesn't matter. This chick could be doing the same. Not to say that Kobe loves her, but that's the level that women will stoop to. I know this. I know some personally.
Of course, on the other hand, Kobe Bryant, a man that not a one of us really knows, could be a malicious, cold hearted rapist. Usually things like this show through (okay, the cold hearted part does), but we can all be fooled. Especially since none of us have been in contact with him. Ever. Personally, I think my story is more likely, having personally dealt with shady women and having never dealt with a rapist. Which is to say that there are a ton more shady women out there than there are coldhearted rapists.
Kobe isn't going to jail. At least, I don't think he is. Oh yeah, and I STILL don't think Mike Tyson did it. And neither did OJ...but he knows who does. No murderer could be that stupid. But it was good to see a black man stick it to White America like that.
Well, if you'll excuse me, I've ranted for long enough and there's a set of Simpsons DVD calling my name. Peace.
